Yungblud Cancels Remaining 2024 Gigs After Health Concerns From Blood Tests

Yungblud, the 28-year-old British rock star, has announced the cancellation of all his upcoming shows after recent blood tests revealed worrying health concerns. The musician, whose real name is Dominic Harrison, was scheduled to perform across the US in November as part of his Idols World Tour, which is set to visit the UK in April 2026. However, he stated that doctors have advised him to take a break from touring until the end of the year.

In a heartfelt message to fans, Yungblud expressed both gratitude and regret: “This year has been truly unbelievable and I feel so lucky and honoured by everything that has happened. This week, after returning from the road and undergoing my usual health checks, my voice and blood tests raised some concerns.” He acknowledged his tendency to push himself relentlessly but recognized the importance of following medical advice this time. “I have been ordered by my doctor to take a break from touring until the end of the year. It’s in my nature to run until I run myself to the ground, but this time I can’t ignore it.”

He apologized for the cancellations, which include shows in Philadelphia, Cleveland, Washington, Mexico City, and Latin America, saying, “My heart is broken. I don’t want to do any lasting damage to myself. This journey is one I want to last forever.” Yungblud reassured fans that all US tickets will be refunded and promised to make it up to them once he recovers.

Yungblud has been promoting his latest album, Idols, released in June, which recently earned him Grammy nominations for Best Rock Album and Best Rock Song for the single “Zombie.”

In related news, Yungblud recently responded to criticism from some fellow rock musicians over his tribute to the late Ozzy Osbourne at the MTV Video Music Awards. He performed alongside Extreme’s Nuno Bettencourt and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry to honor the Black Sabbath legend, who died in July at age 76.

Some critics, including The Darkness guitarist Dan Hawkins and his brother Justin, dismissed the tribute as insincere or misguided. However, Yungblud and Ozzy’s son Jack Osbourne defended the performance on Jack’s “Trying Not To Die” podcast. Jack emphasized the personal connection between his father and Yungblud, saying, “Dom meant something to my dad, my dad meant something to Dom.” He described the negative comments as “bitter and jealous,” highlighting the authenticity and respect behind the tribute.

Yungblud’s decision to prioritize his health underscores the pressures faced by touring artists and his commitment to ensuring his career endures for the long term.
