Work Begins on Monumental Christian Structure Twice the Height of the Angel of the North

Construction has commenced on an ambitious £40 million project to build a monumental Christian landmark near Birmingham. Named the Eternal Wall of Answered Prayer, this impressive structure will stand 51 meters (167 feet) tall, more than twice the size of the iconic Angel of the North. Its unique design takes the form of a mobius strip, symbolizing infinity and unity.

Located between the M6 and M42 motorways near Coleshill, Warwickshire, the wall will incorporate one million bricks, each representing a personal story of a prayer answered by Jesus. To date, nearly 150,000 such stories have been submitted or pledged from people in 125 countries around the world.

A groundbreaking ceremony is set for Wednesday, November 5, marking the official start of the construction phase, with completion anticipated by 2028.

Richard Gamble, former chaplain for Leicester City FC and the visionary behind the project, expressed his enthusiasm: “I am delighted we are creating a monument that will share a million stories of hope. This will be a place where people can discover Jesus, who listens to and answers prayer. Now is the time to build a landmark of hope—a lasting testimony to the power of prayer and a way to preserve Christian heritage in our nation.”

The site for this monumental work has been generously donated by Midlands businessman Lord Edmiston through his company, IM Properties. Lord Edmiston reflected on the project’s significance: “It stands as a testament to both present and future generations of the creator of the universe, who has answered countless prayers throughout history and continues to do so today.”

Although the fundraising effort has already secured £40 million, an additional £5.7 million is needed to cover final operational and landscaping costs.
