A 31-year-old woman arrested on railway tracks at Perry Barr station in Birmingham has appeared in court for trespassing offences. Naomi Peck was found sitting on the train tracks on the morning of 14 August, prompting an approaching train to halt and causing disruption to the railway service.
Birmingham Magistrates' Court heard that several members of the public reported Peck on the tracks. When questioned by British Transport Police officers, the Perry Villa Drive resident said, “I have no money and I don’t know what to do.” She complied with officers and was taken to a place of safety.
Ms Riaz, prosecuting, informed the court that Peck had previously trespassed on railway property in May 2023. Following that earlier incident, she was cautioned and taken to hospital. On this occasion, the defendant was again recognised by officers at the scene.

Peck admitted guilt to trespassing at the hearing on 22 September. She was reminded by the court that she is barred from travelling on any rail network or entering any railway station without prior police authorisation, conditions which were imposed for her own safety.
Representing Peck, solicitor Mr Hassan stated: “No damage was caused to the railway line. She was simply sitting on the tracks, appearing to be in contemplation. She made a full and frank admission of guilt and is remorseful for her actions. Currently, she is under probation supervision.”
The case has been adjourned until November when sentencing will take place.
