Newly released figures from the police detail the number and types of crimes reported within Wolverhampton city centre during July. In total, 222 crimes were recorded, with violence and sexual offences accounting for 101 incidents, making them the most frequently reported category.
Following these were 27 reported cases of shoplifting, ranking second among the offences. Public order offences came third, with 21 recorded incidents. The remaining 73 crimes fell into various other categories as classified by police data.
The geographical scope of these statistics includes not only Wolverhampton city centre but also stretches to areas surrounding the ring road, including Dunstall to the north, Chapel Ash to the west, and Graiseley to the south.
