John Fisher, the social media sensation famous for his viral catchphrase ‘Bosh,’ visited Birmingham’s renowned takeaway, Big John’s, during a city trip with bookmaker Coral. While many know the name ‘Big John’ from Fisher’s own rise to fame—he is also the father of boxer Johnny Fisher—there is another Big John well-loved across Birmingham.
Big John’s takeaway, established by Johngir and Babar Saddiq, has become a staple for locals, with multiple locations spread throughout the city. On this visit to Birmingham, Fisher made it a point to experience the local favorite for himself.
Interestingly, a member of staff at Big John’s didn’t recognize the TikTok star, admitting they had “never heard of Bosh before.” Undeterred, Fisher ordered a simple box of donner meat, deciding to steer clear of chips and bread.

Sharing his thoughts on social media platform X, Fisher said, “I’ve heard a lot about Big John’s in Birmingham, let’s go and have a look at the menu. Let’s see if there is anything worth getting. 99p pizza slices, 99p chicken nuggets, very cheap. I’ve just ordered donner meat because I’m not eating chips, I’m not eating bread. I’m just going to have some donner meat and see what it’s like, looks quite good actually. That’s not bad, Big John’s… Bosh.”
His visit highlights the appeal of Big John’s as a beloved local treasure, and even a social media star couldn’t resist its affordable and tasty offerings.
