West Midlands Police Name New Puppies After England World Cup Stars

West Midlands Police have welcomed a new litter of Belgian Malinois puppies, proudly named after stars of England’s World Cup squad. The eight adorable pups, just four-and-a-half weeks old, bear the names Jude, Nico, Morgan, Declan, Saka, Ezri, and Jordan, reflecting the force’s tribute to the national team.

Inspector Rachel Crump, head of the police dog unit, shared the enthusiasm for the initiative: “When the World Cup is on, it brings a contagious sense of excitement and pride. We wanted our newest recruits to capture that energy.” She added, “Like the England players, we hope our dogs will demonstrate commitment, courage, and exceptional skill. These puppies have big shoes to fill, but we believe they will grow into crime-fighting stars, helping to keep the public safe.”

The puppies will begin training soon, with the goal of becoming fully operational police dogs within the next 18 months. Their future roles will include suspect apprehension and crime prevention. Meanwhile, members of the community interested in fostering these promising pups can find more information on the West Midlands Police website.
