Two suspects wanted in connection with separate murders remain at large in the West Midlands, as police intensify efforts to locate and apprehend them. Despite ongoing investigations and numerous appeals, both men have successfully evaded capture, much to the frustration of detectives dedicated to bringing them to justice.
One of the suspects, 29-year-old Dahir Ali, has been on the run for nearly two years following the fatal stabbing of 39-year-old Ekrimh Mena’a in Lozells in September 2024. Mena’a was tragically killed near the junction of Hunters Road and Villa Road after an incident described by police as “disorder” shortly after midnight. Ali, identified as a key suspect, was able to avoid arrest despite other individuals being taken into custody during the investigation. Police have repeatedly appealed to the public for information about his whereabouts, but leads have so far been unsuccessful.
West Midlands Police have urged anyone who sees Dahir Ali, or has knowledge of his location, to contact emergency services immediately, providing reference number 20/885260/24.

The second suspect, 22-year-old Liburd, is wanted for the murder of 19-year-old Chris Ikouara, who was fatally stabbed at a residence on Olton Boulevard East in Acocks Green on 13 January. Ikouara was remembered by his family as a “caring” and “deeply-cherished” young man, and his death has had a profound impact on his loved ones.
Liburd has been named by detectives as the prime suspect. A £10,000 reward has been offered through Crimestoppers in the hope that it will encourage members of the public to come forward with information. His photograph has been publicly released, and the case was also featured on BBC’s Crimewatch as authorities employ all available resources to resolve the investigation.
Detective Chief Inspector Phil Poole emphasised the importance of public assistance, stating: “If you know where Liburd is or have any information, please get in touch. You don’t need to speak directly to us; you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and remain completely anonymous. Any information provided will be treated with the utmost confidentiality. Even if you think your information is insignificant, it could prove crucial.”
The police continue to appeal to the community to aid in the safe apprehension of both suspects to ensure justice for the victims and their families.
