West Midlands Patients Identify Ten Lowest-Rated GP Surgeries

Patients in the West Midlands have highlighted the ten lowest-rated GP surgeries in the region, according to feedback gathered through the national GP Patient Survey for 2026.

The survey asked patients to evaluate whether they believed their local surgeries were performing well or poorly, providing vital insight into the quality of care received. Patient opinions remain a key measure of a GP surgery’s effectiveness and service standards.

At the most poorly rated practices, fewer than two in five patients expressed a favourable view of the care delivered. The list of the ten lowest-ranked surgeries in the West Midlands includes:

  • Naseby Medical Centre in Saltley, ranked as the lowest in the region, with only 38% of patients rating it positively. This aligns with recent serious concerns raised by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), which suspended the practice’s registration last August due to inadequate standards. The centre serves a patient population exceeding 5,000.

  • Other underperforming surgeries include Clifton Medical Centre in West Bromwich and Hall Green Health.

The GP Patient Survey gathers patient perspectives across multiple aspects of the healthcare experience, including the quality of care provided, and the ease of contacting the practice by phone or online to book appointments. Patients rate their overall experience as very good, fairly good, fairly poor, or very poor.

It should be noted that in some instances, the number of survey respondents may be low, which can influence the final ratings.

Continued monitoring of patient feedback aims to support improvements in GP services across the West Midlands.
