Meanwhile, over in Birmingham city centre, big news on Temple Street: Revolucion de Cuba is closing after nine vibrant years of cocktails and dance classes. But don’t worry—the venue won’t stay empty for long. Introducing Bonnie Rogues, a sister brand that promises a lively, party atmosphere complete with karaoke, live music, sports screenings, and even Sunday roasts. The venue’s £1 million makeover is underway, and the buzz is real.
Just across the road in Piccadilly Arcade, a beloved bakery returns—The Bread Collection is back! After its absence from Great Western Arcade, it’s a lovely revival of a charming Victorian bakery spot.
Speaking of baking, a new baking-focused experience is set to open soon on Link Street, the walkway connecting Bullring and Grand Central. Details are still under wraps, but exciting things are on the horizon.
Shifting gears to Martineau Place, I’ve been digging into the upcoming plans. If approved, the top end of the High Street will see major redevelopment: demolition of existing shops and eateries to make room for two towers and the new Botanic Arcade—a stylish hub designed to host independent retailers, restaurants, cafés, and terraces encouraging the city’s growing café culture.
