Violence Erupts in Bearwood: Police Issue Full Statement as Road Closures Continue

A major Black Country thoroughfare, Bearwood High Street, was closed on Wednesday evening after a violent altercation left three men injured. The incident occurred around 6pm near the Reginald Road junction, prompting an immediate police response.

One man required ambulance transport to the hospital, while two others self-presented for medical treatment. West Midlands Police have arrested three men on suspicion of assault as the investigation remains in its early stages.

Officers continue to secure the area and are conducting extensive inquiries to determine the exact circumstances of the disorder. Sandwell Police emphasized that, based on current information, this appears to be an isolated event, but local officers will maintain a presence throughout the evening.

Authorities are appealing for witnesses or anyone with footage to come forward by calling 101 or using the Live Chat feature on the police website, referencing log number 4666 dated February 11.

The disruption also affected local public transport, with National Express West Midlands diverting the number 82 and 87 bus routes to avoid Bearwood Road and High Street. Traffic service Inrix reported additional closures on Smethwick High Street due to a separate serious accident, though any connection to the Bearwood incident remains unclear.

Residents are advised to avoid the area if possible as police continue their investigations and road closures remain in effect.
