August Priske could make his first start for Birmingham City when Leeds United visit St Andrew’s in the FA Cup fourth round on Sunday. The Danish forward, signed for £6 million from Djurgården in January, has so far appeared only as a substitute in the Championship, with Marvin Ducksch and Jay Stansfield leading the line.
Ducksch has played nearly every minute in the Blues’ last seven matches, but Sunday’s cup tie presents a chance to rest him. This could also offer fans a glimpse of the strike partnership that might spearhead Birmingham’s future ambitions at The Powerhouse.
Both Stansfield and Priske are under contract beyond the proposed Powerhouse opening in 2030 and are viewed as key figures in Blues’ long-term attacking plans.

Priske isn’t alone in contention up front. Carlos Vicente could reclaim the right-wing spot from Patrick Roberts, while Demarai Gray, returning after a six-week absence, is eager to start on the left—though Ibrahim Osman has impressed in his stead.
Manager Chris Davies faces a pleasant dilemma in the wide positions, with plenty of options to choose from, either as starters or substitutes.
Midfield will see Tommy Doyle step in for Paik Seung-ho, who recently aggravated a shoulder injury. With Doyle and Jhon Solis both keen to control the midfield, finding the right balance will be crucial—especially in transitioning play from defense to attack.
In defense, the available options have improved as injury concerns ease. The likely back four includes Tomoki Iwata, Phil Neumann, Christoph Klarer, and Kai Wagner. While Iwata was rested midweek, Wagner’s role on the flank seems indispensable. The only potential newcomer is Jonathan Panzo, who might replace Neumann for his Birmingham debut, though Neumann is expected to start.
Predicted Birmingham City XI (4-2-3-1):
Beadle; Iwata, Neumann, Klarer, Wagner; Solis, Doyle; Vicente, Stansfield, Gray; Priske
