A fire that began in a van on John Street in Willenhall has spread to surrounding buildings, including what is believed to be a former pie factory.
Shortly after 7pm on Tuesday 4 August, West Midlands Fire Service received reports of a large van fire. Firefighters attended the scene promptly, and the flames have since extended to adjacent structures, trees, and foliage.
The fire service has mobilised four crews from Willenhall, Bilston, Wednesbury, and Walsall to tackle the blaze. Despite the intensity of the fire, the number of crews has not increased, but they have remained on site for nearly two hours following the initial report.

Residents and eyewitnesses have reported witnessing “massive flames” as they passed the location, prompting warnings to stay safe and avoid the area where possible.
Unconfirmed accounts suggest that the fire has engulfed the premises of the old TC Morris factory, once a traditional pork pie manufacturer. TC Morris relocated in 2024 from Willenhall to a new purpose-built facility at Blackbrook Industrial Estate on Narrowboat Way, Dudley.
“Just drove past it flames massive. Stay safe.”
The fire service continues to manage the incident as investigations into the cause and extent of the damage are underway. Members of the public are advised to steer clear of John Street and surrounding areas until further notice.
