UK’s Gourmet Chocolate Pizza Co Ends Nearly 20-Year Journey

The Gourmet Chocolate Pizza Co, a cherished UK chocolate brand known for its distinctive chocolate “pizzas,” has officially ceased trading after almost two decades in business. Based in Cotgrave, Nottinghamshire, the company shared the news through a message on its website, expressing gratitude to its customers for their support over the years.

Founded in 2007 with the goal of “making every chocolate lover’s dreams come true,” the company quickly gained a loyal following for its inventive chocolate creations. However, recent financial difficulties have led to a significant reduction in its workforce, from 34 employees in 2022 to just 18 last year, according to company accounts.

The closure announcement also revealed that a liquidator could be appointed following a creditors’ meeting scheduled for March 12, 2026. This development marks the end of an era for the brand that carved a unique niche in the confectionery market.

This closure comes amidst a challenging environment for small businesses, exemplified by other local enterprises like Buns From Home, which recently announced store closures citing rising rent costs as a primary factor.

For nearly 20 years, The Gourmet Chocolate Pizza Co delighted chocolate enthusiasts with its creative approach, leaving behind a legacy of sweet innovation and fond memories among its customers.
