The UK is gearing up for a second snow bomb this November, following the recent flurries experienced earlier this week. Weather projections from WXCharts indicate that from Tuesday, 18 November to Friday, 21 November, extensive snowfall will affect northern England, Wales, Northern Ireland, and Scotland.
This cold spell has prompted the Met Office to issue several yellow weather warnings for snow and ice, targeting regions in Scotland and northern England from Monday through Thursday. Additionally, the UK Health Security Agency has raised amber health warnings for north-east and north-west England, as well as Yorkshire and the Humber. These alerts highlight an increased health risk for people over 65 and those with pre-existing respiratory or cardiovascular conditions.
The amber warnings are effective from noon on Monday until 8am on Saturday, with the rest of England under a less severe yellow warning during the same period.

Jo Farrow from Netweather TV explains, “An ice warning is in place as commuters begin travel early Tuesday, especially over the higher terrain of the Central Belt, Southern Uplands, and Pennine routes leading into the Yorkshire Dales.” She adds, “The weather will be a challenging blend of rain, sleet, snow, and ice, with the main wintry conditions focused on northwest England and western Scotland Tuesday morning.”
According to Farrow, a patch of snow will track across the Pennines, Cumbria Fells, and Yorkshire Dales in the morning, extending to the North Yorkshire Moors by midday. Elsewhere, rain showers will swirl around low pressure systems affecting Northern Ireland, the Irish Sea, Wales, and southwest England.
In contrast, eastern Britain can expect brighter conditions with lighter winds during this period. As low pressure continues moving southeast, further showers over northwest England and western Wales will maintain the risk of icy conditions through Tuesday night.
