Two Popular Lunch Snacks Recalled Across UK Amid Safety Concerns

Two beloved lunch snacks have been urgently recalled from UK supermarket shelves after misprints on their labels rendered them unsafe for consumption. Wholesale Japanese food supplier Tanpopo has issued the recall for two of its well-known products: the Surimi & Avocado Roll, with a use-by date of February 13, 2026, and the Chicken Katsu Roll, dated February 14, 2026.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) confirmed the recall, emphasizing that the incorrect use-by dates make these products hazardous to consumers. Point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail locations selling these items, informing customers about the recall and explaining the next steps.

Consumers who have purchased either of these products are strongly advised not to eat them. Instead, they should return the snacks to the point of purchase to receive a full refund.

For additional information or inquiries, customers can contact Tanpopo directly via email at [email protected] or by phone at 01784 440 957.

The FSA further clarifies that food products posing a risk may either be “withdrawn” from shelves or “recalled,” which involves customers returning the items. Product Recall Information Notices are issued to inform the public and local authorities of such safety concerns. In some instances, the FSA also issues a ‘Food Alert for Action’ to guide local authorities on requisite measures to protect consumers.
