In a rare and concerning incident in the Nottinghamshire village of Radcliffe-On-Trent, two pensioners have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. Police responded to a report of a serious assault at a property on Cropwell Road on the evening of Monday, January 12.
At approximately 8:45 pm, officers were called to the scene where they detained a 69-year-old woman and an 80-year-old man. Both have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent, as well as neglect of a person lacking capacity. Following their arrest, the suspects were released on police bail subject to certain conditions.
A police cordon remains in place at the property as officers continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. Nottinghamshire Police have confirmed their ongoing presence at the scene, emphasizing the seriousness of the case.

A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Police stated: “We attended Cropwell Road following reports of a serious assault and subsequently arrested two individuals aged 69 and 80 on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and neglect of a person without capacity. Both have been released on bail with conditions while our investigation continues.”
