Two teenage boys have been arrested in connection with a robbery and assault that occurred in Victoria Park, Smethwick, on the evening of Monday, 3 August.
The victim, a boy, was reportedly attacked and sustained a knife wound to the head while his mobile phone was taken during the incident.
West Midlands Police quickly responded to the scene and apprehended two boys nearby. Subsequent searches led to the recovery of a mobile phone along with a quantity of cannabis and nitrous oxide.

“Two teenagers have been arrested after a boy was robbed in Smethwick yesterday evening.
“At around 5.20pm, a boy was assaulted in Victoria Park and sustained a knife wound to the head. His phone was also stolen.
“Officers quickly responded and detained two boys nearby for a stop and search. During searches, a mobile phone and a quantity of cannabis and nitrous oxide were recovered.
“A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession of cannabis.
“And a second 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession of nitrous oxide. They remain in custody for questioning.”
Police have emphasised their ongoing efforts to reduce robbery and criminal activity in the area through Operation Ruby. They also provided advice on how individuals can protect themselves from becoming victims of robbery.
