Tumbler Ridge School Shooting Leaves 10 Dead and 25 Injured; Suspect Found Deceased

A devastating school shooting has shocked the small town of Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia, resulting in 10 confirmed deaths and 25 injuries. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) responded swiftly to reports of an active shooter at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School on Tuesday, February 10.

Staff Sergeant Kris Clark confirmed multiple victims in the aftermath of the incident, with the casualty figures continuing to rise. At approximately 3:15 p.m. local time, emergency alerts were issued urging residents in Tumbler Ridge and surrounding areas to stay indoors, lock doors, and shelter in place.

Police entered the school to secure the scene and launch their investigation. An air ambulance was deployed to assist the injured. Initial reports from local media described the suspect as a brown-haired woman wearing a dress. Authorities have since confirmed that the suspected shooter has been found deceased.

The entire local police force has been mobilized to assist with the investigation. During the incident, both Tumbler Ridge Secondary School and Tumbler Ridge Elementary School were placed on lockdown as safety measures.
