The current season of The Traitors has captivated audiences with unexpected revelations about the contestants’ personal lives and hidden relationships.
Among the surprises, psychologist Ellie Buckley revealed her boyfriend is fellow contestant and personal trainer Ross Garshong, while recruiter Roxy Wilson disclosed that child liaison officer Judy Wilson is her mother. Early in the series, it was also revealed that Ross and contestant Netty Osterberg share an old friendship, sparking fan speculation about other secret connections within the cast.
Paul Gorton, a traitor and standout from series two, hinted that the castle’s family tree suggests “everyone is connected” by either friendship or family ties. Rumors circulated around traitor Stephen Libby possibly being romantically linked to either creative director Matthew Hyndman or sweet shop assistant Reece Ward. However, social media posts have now confirmed that 32-year-old Stephen is actually in a relationship with actor and artist Daniel Quirke.

Before the series premiered on New Year’s Day, Daniel took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the news, writing: “Breaking my Twitter hiatus to post this. My amazing partner Stephen took a little trip to the Highlands. Tune in tonight for #TheTraitors at 8pm on @BBC,” according to The Mirror.
Their Instagram accounts reveal a shared love for travel and the arts. Daniel frequently shares his artwork—recently showcased in a solo exhibition in Soho, London—while Stephen, one of only two remaining traitors following Fiona Hughes’ eviction, posts scenic photos from their travels to places like Vietnam, Japan, and South Africa.
Though it’s unclear when their romance began, pictures of the couple date back to 2022. Since the show’s launch, fans have flocked to Stephen’s social media, eager to know more about his style choices on the program.
A London resident originally from the remote Isle of Lewis in Scotland, Stephen is believed to have notable celebrity connections as well. This surfaced following a TikTok video he shared of a watch party where family and friends reacted to his selection as a traitor.
The joyous moment included cheers and applause when host Claudia Winkleman tapped Stephen on the shoulder. Among the crowd was a familiar face: comedian Lou Sanders. The stand-up, writer, and actress—known for her appearances on panel shows, her victory on Taskmaster series eight, and her recent role on Last One Laughing UK—was seen initially covering her eyes, then applauding Stephen’s choice as a traitor.
The video sparked intrigue online with viewers asking about Lou Sanders’ presence and her connection to Stephen, highlighting the close circle of friends and celebrities around him.
