The roads in Birmingham most frequently monitored by traffic wardens have been revealed, exposing persistent parking trouble spots in the city.
Despite thousands of parking fines handed out each year, certain familiar streets repeatedly top the list of enforcement hotspots. These are the areas where traffic wardens patrol diligently every day, fully aware of the ongoing parking violations.
Unfortunately, many drivers continue to ignore parking regulations, often risking fines by parking on double yellow lines, failing to pay, or overstaying time limits. As a result, motorists frequently return to find parking charge notices attached to their vehicles.

Alum Rock Road is the leading hotspot for parking fines in Birmingham. From January to November last year alone, an astonishing 10,512 fines were issued here—averaging 32 tickets per day. This reflects just how high the enforcement activity is along this busy corridor.
Stretching through Saltley and Alum Rock, this bustling route is lined with shops, businesses, and residential areas, making it prone to frequent congestion and parking challenges.
Another major area where parking penalties are heavily enforced is Stratford Road in Sparkhill, which saw over 6,660 fines issued in 2025. Other commonly patrolled streets include Gas Street, Washwood Heath Road, and Cornwall Street.
These insights come from a recent freedom of information request submitted to Birmingham City Council, shedding light on the city’s parking enforcement focus and the persistence of parking violations in key areas.
