Tom Fletcher to Dance with Paddington Bear on Strictly Come Dancing Quarter-Final

McFly’s Tom Fletcher is gearing up to perform alongside Paddington Bear in the musical-themed quarter-final of Strictly Come Dancing this weekend. The BBC has confirmed that the 40-year-old singer and the beloved bear from the West End hit Paddington The Musical will take to the ballroom floor, performing “The Explorer And The Bear.”

Fletcher, who previously competed on Strictly and wrote the music and lyrics for the Paddington musical, will join other special guests, including the cast of the Olivier Award-winning parody Titanique. As part of musicals week, viewers can look forward to a dynamic dance relay featuring all five remaining contestants.

The relay will open with reality TV star Amber Davies and her partner Nikita Kuzmin performing to “Trip A Little Light Fantastic” from Mary Poppins Returns. Following will be EastEnders’ Balvinder Sopal and professional Julian Caillon dancing to “With A Little Bit Of Luck” from My Fair Lady, social media star George Clarke and Alexis Warr performing “Consider Yourself” from Oliver!, former Lioness Karen Carney with Carlos Gu dancing to “Flash Bang Wallop” from Half A Sixpence, and ex-Emmerdale actor Lewis Cope with Katya Jones presenting “Me Ol’ Bamboo” from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. The relay includes eight additional dancers and will feature a synchronized opening and closing.

Alongside the contestants, Strictly’s professional dancers will perform an exciting routine to “Cell Block Tango” from Chicago.

Last weekend’s episode saw Doctor Who’s Alex Kingston and partner Johannes Radebe eliminated after a dance-off against Sopal and Caillon. Reflecting on her time in the competition, Kingston described it as a “journey of a lifetime” and felt “so lucky” to have participated.

Strictly Come Dancing returns Saturday at 6:50pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, with the results show airing Sunday at 7:45pm.
