Cricket enthusiasts eager to attend the Ashes at Edgbaston next summer have expressed strong disapproval over a significant increase in ticket prices.
Tickets for the third Test match between England and Australia, scheduled to begin on Thursday, 8 July 2027, will see a 43 per cent price increase for seats in the renowned Eric Hollies Stand compared to 2023. Prices for this stand have risen from £115 to £165 per day.
Other areas of the ground will have tickets ranging from £115 to £250 per day, depending on the location.

Fans took to social media to voice their concerns, with one commenting, “Ooof those prices are a disgrace.” Former England captain Michael Vaughan criticised the increase as “really poor.”
Additional comments highlighted worries about affordability, with one supporter saying, “Normal working-class cricket supporters and their families are getting priced out of Test cricket. This needs investigating, putting pressure on the ECB and county grounds hosting international Test matches.”
Others expressed frustration, with one remarking, “You need to stop obsessing with cricketers having a few pints after a win. This is the real scandal. Utter disgrace, really is,” while another simply described the situation as a “shambles.”
In response, an Edgbaston spokesperson stated, “Our prices for the 2027 Ashes Test are broadly in line with other host venues and major British sporting events such as Wimbledon and the Formula One at Silverstone.
“Our entry-level ticket prices roughly match inflation compared to the last time Australia visited Edgbaston in 2023.
“However, like the rest of the country, we’re managing increased costs and attempting to limit these wherever possible.”
The 2023 Ashes series concluded with a 2-2 draw. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) reported that every day of the series sold out in advance, with total attendance exceeding 545,000.
