Thug Jailed for Attempted Chainsaw Attack on Dog Walker

A man from Solihull has been sentenced to prison after attempting to attack a dog walker with a chainsaw. The incident took place on May 28, 2025, near Gospel Lane and Brookvale Road, Olton, while the victim was walking his two dogs in a wooded area.

The trouble began when one of the victim’s dogs was attacked by another dog, leading to a heated argument between the two dog owners. Lewis Whitsey, 48, intervened in the confrontation and assaulted the owner of the dog that had been attacked.

Whitsey then left the scene but soon returned wielding a chainsaw, which he tried to use to attack the victim. Fortunately, the chainsaw malfunctioned and stopped just as he was about to strike, allowing the man to escape unharmed.
