A new guide has ranked the UK’s 10 best day trips, highlighting several top attractions within easy reach of Birmingham. The Big Day Out Index, compiled by AttractionTickets.com, evaluates destinations based on Google review ratings, search popularity, and repeat visitor interest.
This comprehensive ranking considers a variety of day trips, including historic landmarks, thrilling theme parks, acclaimed zoos, and captivating wildlife parks—ensuring options that offer excellent value for both time and money.
Each attraction receives an overall score out of 20, determined by its performance across the three key metrics, which shapes the definitive list of top day trips.

Notably, five destinations near Birmingham earned a spot in the top ten: Alton Towers in Staffordshire ranks fourth; Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire comes in eighth; the National Memorial Arboretum in Burton-on-Trent is ninth; and Warwick Castle alongside West Midlands Safari Park in Worcestershire share the tenth position.
