Newly released data from West Midlands Police, published on police.uk, highlights the Birmingham areas most affected by vehicle crime in the past 12 months. Birmingham city centre tops the list, with a staggering 623 recorded incidents—averaging about 50 vehicle crimes each month.
Given its heavy foot traffic, the city centre’s high numbers are unsurprising. However, some quieter neighborhoods also face significant vehicle crime challenges. Edgbaston recorded 521 incidents, while Small Heath & Highgate followed closely with 510 cases.
Smith’s Wood ranks fourth with 493 vehicle crimes, and Ladywood comes next with 424 reported incidents. Vehicle crimes encompass a range of offenses, including theft of vehicles, attempted thefts, thefts from vehicles, theft of parts, unauthorized use, and criminal damage.
