Tesco has issued an urgent recall of its “Free From 4 Christmas Chocolate Flavoured Cupcakes” after the Food Standards Agency (FSA) discovered the product may contain milk – an allergen not listed on the packaging. This presents a serious health risk for anyone with a milk allergy or intolerance.
The FSA’s recall notice emphasizes the potential danger: “Tesco is recalling Tesco Free From 4 Christmas Chocolate Flavoured Cupcakes because they may contain milk which is not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.”
In response, Tesco has advised customers to return any affected cupcakes to stores for a full refund, no receipt required. The supermarket has also coordinated with relevant allergy support organizations to alert at-risk individuals about the recall.

Consumers are urged to check their cupboards immediately and avoid eating the product if they have any milk allergies or intolerances. For safety, do not consume these cupcakes but instead take them back to Tesco stores.
The FSA continues to monitor the situation and advises vigilance during this festive season to prevent allergic reactions caused by mislabeled food products.
