Tesco to Close Popular Clubcard Pay+ Account by April 2026

Tesco has announced the forthcoming closure of its Clubcard Pay+ account, effective from 26 April 2026. Launched in March 2021, this popular prepaid debit card and round-up savings account enabled users to earn extra loyalty points on everyday spending.

In a statement, Tesco explained: “After a careful review of our products, we’ve decided to close our Clubcard Pay+ and Round Up accounts to better focus on other offerings. While this may be disappointing, customers can continue collecting points with their Clubcard as usual and explore our range of other savings accounts.”

Customers can continue using their Clubcard Pay+ account normally until the closure date. After 26 April 2026, the Clubcard Pay+ card and Round Up account will no longer be operational. Any remaining funds, including interest, will be returned to account holders.

Tesco encouraged customers to spend or withdraw all funds before the closure date to avoid any disruption in access to their money. The company added, “There won’t be a direct replacement for this account type, but customers can still enjoy various ways to save and earn with Tesco.”

Tesco is in the process of notifying all affected customers to ensure a smooth transition ahead of the account shutdown.
