While many express excitement over the new options, relieved to finally have more variety beyond the classic tuna sandwich, some opinions are less enthusiastic—the Salt and Pepper Chicken Wrap, for example, was criticized by a customer for lacking flavor and having unpleasant crunchy vegetables.
This update comes amid rising food prices in the UK. In August, Tesco increased the cost of its lunchtime meal deal; Clubcard holders now pay £3.85 instead of £3.60, while non-Clubcard customers see a rise from £4 to £4.25.
Despite the price hike, fans of Tesco’s meal deals are likely to welcome the greater choice and fresh flavors introduced with these new mains.
