Teenager Faces Sentencing After Hurling Fire Extinguisher During A38 Police Chase

Shea McCallion, 19, is set to be sentenced this week following a high-speed police chase on the A38 in Birmingham, during which she threw a fire extinguisher at pursuing officers.

The incident unfolded after police received reports of a stolen vehicle in Hodge Hill on October 29. The following day, officers from the Road Crime Team identified the stolen car and attempted to stop it. When the driver initially refused to pull over, a pursuit ensued.

During the chase, McCallion, who was a passenger in the stolen vehicle, deliberately released a fire extinguisher canister toward the police car, causing damage. Despite this, officers managed to maintain visual contact and eventually brought the vehicle to a stop on the A38 Northbound slip road near the M6.
