An 18-year-old driver led police on a pursuit through Birmingham before crashing into a road sign in Aston. Asleem Ullah, driving a silver Seat, was chased by officers along several streets including Lozells Road, Church Street and Wills Street, before the collision on Charles Road on 15 August.
Birmingham Magistrates' Court heard that no members of the public were harmed during the incident, which involved Ullah fleeing the scene after crashing. He was later found by police and provided a false name before his arrest.
Ullah faced charges including dangerous driving, failure to stop for police, obstructing a constable, possession of a knife, and possession of Class B cannabis. At a hearing on 23 September, he admitted all five charges.

The prosecution described the pursuit as aggressive and noted the discovery of the knife and drugs in connection with Ullah. Despite the serious nature of the offences, the court was informed that Ullah has no previous convictions and is of good character.
The case has been adjourned for a pre-sentence report from the Probation Service, and an interim driving disqualification has been imposed. Lead magistrate Mr Crouch granted unconditional bail, emphasising that while Ullah is free to leave the court, he is not permitted to drive.
The matter is scheduled to return to Birmingham Magistrates' Court on 18 December for sentencing.
