Following a thorough judging process across 17 categories, pubs from across the country were recognised, including entrants from Kettering and Cheltenham. However, it was Tamworth in Staffordshire that emerged as the standout locale.
Situated at 29 Market Street, The Tamworth Tap has been honoured as both the Great British Pub of the Year and Best Beer Pub for 2026. This vibrant microbrewery operates within a 16th-century building spanning three floors, filled with vintage interiors, breweriana, and posters that bring character and charm to the medieval stone walls.

Visitors can explore every corner of The Tamworth Tap, discovering its varied selection of beverages. The pub offers eight continually changing cask ales from across the UK, alongside 40 varieties of craft ciders, Belgian draughts and bottled beers, and international craft beers, catering to a wide range of tastes.
Complementing its drinks, the pub serves homemade traditional dishes and snacks, making it a tempting place to linger. During warmer autumn days, patrons can enjoy the beautiful beer garden, which overlooks the town’s Norman castle and shares its Saxon curtain wall.
