TalkTalk is preparing to raise broadband bills for millions of customers, adding £48 per year to their costs. Starting next April, new and re-contracting customers who signed up on or after November 16 will experience a £4 monthly increase in their broadband fees. Those who joined or renewed their contracts between August 12, 2024, and November 16, 2025, will see a smaller increase of £3 per month.
Sebastien Lahtinen, broadband expert and director at Thinkbroadband, explained, “While price rises are always unwelcome, TalkTalk’s increase from £3 to £4 per month aligns with industry trends. It’s important to note that promotional packages currently available are priced lower than before, which helps soften the impact of these hikes.”
He added, “The shift from inflation-linked to fixed-price increases means the percentage jump is larger, especially for lower-cost packages, leaving some consumers worse off. However, customers can now anticipate exact price changes each April rather than fluctuating inflation-based increases.”

Lahtinen advised consumers to “shop around at the end of their contracts for the best available deals.”
A TalkTalk spokesperson commented, “The price rise changes apply only to new and re-contracting customers, allowing us to continue investing in our services. Existing customers will not see any change during their current contracts. We remain committed to supporting our customers with any questions or concerns.”
This adjustment follows Ofcom’s early 2025 directive requiring telecom providers to present mid-contract price increases clearly in pounds and pence at the time of customer sign-up, replacing the former percentage and inflation-based model.
