The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) report revealed that the accident occurred on August 29, when the pilot struck the ground at the end of the runway, damaging the aircraft’s fuselage and wing tip. The incident happened as the pilot was returning to the airfield near Penkridge. Rather than aligning with his intended Runway 25, the pilot mistakenly lined up with Runway 29.
