Taco Bell is set to bring its popular Mexican-inspired menu to the heart of Birmingham with its first city centre branch. While the fast-food chain already operates a location at Star City, the upcoming Birmingham New Street Station outlet will mark its debut in the bustling city centre.
The new restaurant will be situated on the Bullring side of Birmingham New Street Station, adjacent to Popeyes. Although the exact opening date has not been announced, signage at the site indicates that Taco Bell is “coming soon.”
Fans can expect the signature Taco Bell menu, featuring Mexican favourites such as crunchy tacos, volcano burritos, and cheesy quesadillas. Complementing the main dishes will be an array of sides like nachos and the indulgent ‘Bell Grande’ fries topped with warm nacho cheese sauce, black beans, seasoned beef, diced tomatoes, and cool sour cream. For dessert, guests can enjoy treats including cinnamon twists, caramel apple empanadas, and classic churros with dips.
Originating as a staple in the United States, Taco Bell has rapidly expanded its presence across the UK since opening its first British outlet in Essex in 2010. The chain continued its growth with locations in Manchester from 2011 and now operates several restaurants nationwide.
Within the West Midlands, Taco Bell currently serves customers at its Star City branch, as well as in Sutton Coldfield and Oldbury. Its arrival at Birmingham New Street Station positions it among other popular eateries like Popeyes, Wetherspoon, Five Guys, and All Bar One.
Both Taco Bell and Network Rail, which manages Birmingham New Street Station, have been contacted for comments regarding the new opening.
