Looking for an enjoyable family outing over the Bank Holiday weekend? Sutton Coldfield is bringing a seaside vibe this summer with its very own mini beach and WaveSurfer attraction at The Belfry Hotel and Resort.
Situated on Belfry Beach, the outdoor WaveSurfer simulator invites both hotel guests and local visitors to experience the thrill of bodyboarding on an exciting artificial wave. It’s a unique opportunity to balance and ride the ultimate wave adventure without needing to be a golfer or a resort guest.
Alongside the WaveSurfer, families can indulge in a range of activities including Nerf gun battles, football darts, and inflatable axe throwing. There’s also an ice-cream van to sweeten the day.

A spokesperson for The Belfry explained, “WaveSurfer allows riders to take on the wave in groups, giving everyone a chance to rest and receive guidance from our instructors before their next turn. Afterwards, guests can enjoy giant inflatable games and a variety of fun-packed challenges on Belfry Beach.”
The beach area is open to visitors of all ages and promises lots to explore and enjoy, making it an ideal way to keep the whole family entertained throughout the summer.
This summer event has been running since the start of the school holidays and will continue daily until Sunday 6 September. The activities are designed for adults and children aged six and over, with beach access and activities available at £5 per person for morning or afternoon sessions.
WaveSurfer sessions start at £30, running daily from 10am to 8pm, with the last entry available at 7pm. For safety reasons, riders must be at least 1.1 metres tall and aged six or older.
Visitors can also enjoy a large playground on site, which is free to use.
Set within 550 acres of Warwickshire countryside, The Belfry boasts three championship golf courses, an award-winning spa, and several restaurants, offering plenty for visitors to experience beyond the beach activities.
