Strictly Come Dancing viewers were deeply moved this week as George Clarke opened up about the personal story behind his next dance routine. After advancing to the next round alongside partner Alexis Warr, George shared the significance of his music selection during Sunday night’s results show.
Speaking with host Claudia Winkleman, George explained that he will be dancing to Keane’s “Somewhere Only We Know,” a song that holds special meaning for his family. He revealed, “At the start of the series, they ask you about your favorite music, and the only song I mentioned was ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ because my sister sang it at my grandad’s funeral. It means a lot to my family.”
He went on to reflect on the challenges his family has faced over the years, saying, “We’ve had various troubles, so it feels important to dedicate this performance to them – something meaningful to give back.”
