Strictly Come Dancing Star Dr Punam Krishan Reveals Breast Cancer Battle Following Intuition

Dr Punam Krishan, known for her role on Morning Live and as a 2024 Strictly Come Dancing contestant alongside Gorka Marquez, has bravely shared her personal battle with breast cancer. Five months ago, driven by a ‘gut feeling,’ the 42-year-old doctor received a diagnosis that turned her world upside down.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Dr Krishan revealed the shock and emotional turmoil that followed hearing the words no one wants to hear. Despite nearly two decades of medical experience supporting patients through tough diagnoses, facing cancer herself was an entirely different reality. “Knowledge means very little in that moment,” she admitted, describing the overwhelming fear and trauma.

Dr Krishan chose to keep her diagnosis private during treatment to protect her children and conserve her energy. She credited her husband, family, and a close-knit circle of friends for their unwavering support throughout her journey. She completed her treatment recently and is now focusing on healing “one day at a time,” feeling a mix of gratitude, relief, and vulnerability.

Highlighting the critical lesson she learned, Dr Krishan stressed the power of early detection. “My story began with an unusual feeling – a gut instinct. Listening to it mattered. Please know your body. Trust yourself. Act early if something doesn’t feel right,” she urged.

Her experience has reshaped her perspective on life, stripping away distractions and emphasizing that health surpasses work, possessions, or perfection. While her journey has led her to some very dark mental places, it has also underscored what truly matters.

Dr Krishan’s candidness offers hope and encouragement, reminding everyone of the importance of trusting their instincts and seeking prompt medical advice when something feels off.
