A male star from the popular BBC show Strictly Come Dancing has been arrested on suspicion of rape, marking another troubling development for the programme.
According to reports from The Sun, the man—whose identity remains confidential due to legal restrictions—was detained in October regarding an alleged incident that allegedly took place last year. The alleged victim is not a contestant or professional dancer on the show.
Hertfordshire Police confirmed the arrest and shared that inquiries are ongoing. A spokesperson stated, “A man was released on police bail under investigation after being arrested in London on Monday 13 October on suspicion of rape. The allegations relate to an incident which occurred in Hertfordshire during 2024. Officers from Hertfordshire Constabulary’s Public Protection team are actively continuing their inquiries. Given the sensitivity of the case, further comment is not appropriate at this time.”

The BBC also issued a brief response, saying, “It would not be appropriate to comment on an ongoing police investigation.”
This arrest follows a similar incident in August, when another male star from Strictly Come Dancing was arrested on suspicion of rape and a separate charge related to non-consensual intimate image abuse. These consecutive allegations have placed the show under intense scrutiny as investigations proceed.
