A healthcare assistant from Tipton has received a driving ban after being caught drink-driving. Dave Sazuze, 46, was stopped by police while driving a silver Ford Fiesta along Craddock Street in Wolverhampton on 8 August. Officers who followed the vehicle conducted a breath test, which revealed Sazuze had 89 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath-over double the legal limit of 35 micrograms.
At Dudley Magistrates’ Court on 24 September, Sazuze admitted to driving while over the alcohol limit. The court heard that on the day in question, he was experiencing a significant amount of stress at home. His legal representative explained that Sazuze had waited for his wife to return before deciding to go out in an attempt to “get away from it all.” Unfortunately, this led to him drinking and driving.
The legal team added that Sazuze has since reduced his alcohol consumption and is seeking help. The court noted his significant remorse for his actions.
