Streetly Paedophile Jailed for Sexually Abusing Schoolgirl, Claiming Assault Was ‘Because She Liked It’

Alan Lodge, 53, has been sentenced to eight years in prison after admitting to sexually abusing a schoolgirl between 2022 and 2024. During his trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court, Lodge shockingly claimed the abuse happened ‘because she liked it,’ a distressing statement highlighting his deeply flawed justification.

Lodge, previously living in Streetly, engaged in multiple acts of sexual abuse against the victim, including kissing her, performing sexual acts in front of her, and forcing her to touch him inappropriately. He repeatedly asked the girl if she ‘liked it,’ to which she would respond affirmatively in a desperate, naïve hope that the abuse might end sooner. In truth, the young victim felt sick and has since struggled profoundly to move past the trauma.

The victim, now courageously speaking out, described in a statement read to the court how the abuse has left her ‘withdrawn’ and feeling ‘lonely.’ She struggles to leave her home and suffers panic attacks when she tries. Sleeping has become difficult, with frequent nightmares disrupting her rest. She poignantly expressed, “My life will never be the same.”

Judge John Edwards acknowledged a letter Lodge wrote to the court, describing it as “thought-out and insightful,” noting Lodge’s recognition of the harm he caused. Nevertheless, the judge condemned the abuse as “the most egregious offence” committed during the most vulnerable time of the girl’s life. He emphasized Lodge’s “wholly warped logic” in justifying the abuse by mistakenly believing the victim derived pleasure from it.

Lodge pleaded guilty to 11 counts of sexual activity with a child, one count of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, and one count of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child. In addition to his prison sentence, Lodge received a 10-year sexual harm prevention order and will remain on the sex offenders register for life.
