Stansfield, Robinson, Wright: Latest Injury Updates for Birmingham City Ahead of Swansea Clash

Birmingham City could be without defender Jack Robinson for their upcoming match against Swansea City after he sustained a knock during last week’s FA Cup victory over Cambridge United. Robinson, who has recently secured his spot alongside Christoph Klarer in central defense thanks to strong performances, might be sidelined, potentially giving Phil Neumann another opportunity to partner Klarer.

Manager Chris Davies expressed concern about Robinson’s status, stating, “He’s picked up a little bit of a knock and is a doubt for this match, which is a shame because he’s been doing pretty well recently and has just got going. That’s something we could have to contend with.”

On a more positive note, top scorer Jay Stansfield, who missed the Cambridge game due to an ongoing issue he’s been managing since Christmas, appears to be on the mend. “He’s getting better, definitely, so there’s a good chance he could be back involved. We will see how the next day or so goes,” Davies commented.

Birmingham City’s squad depth remains limited ahead of the Swansea fixture, especially with the recent departures of Keshi Anderson and Lyndon Dykes. However, Scott Wright, who missed the recent cup match due to illness, could be available as an option off the bench after returning to training this week. “Scott was unwell but the pitch wouldn’t have been good considering his injury,” Davies explained. “He was unwell and has got back in training this week. He’s been out for a long time so we can’t put too much expectation on Scotty but he has been around it.”

Bright Osayi-Samuel is still away on Africa Cup of Nations duty and won’t return until next week. Meanwhile, Blues are also expected to be without Demarai Gray, Alex Cochrane, Ethan Laird, and Lee Buchanan once again for the Swansea game.
