Plans have been submitted for nearly 200 new homes in the picturesque village of Tidbury Green, Solihull. If approved, this development would nearly double the village’s current population of around 1,000 residents.
Bloor Homes filed an application on April 20 with Solihull Council, seeking outline permission for the housing project located off Tilehouse Lane. The proposed site encompasses approximately 14.8 hectares (36.57 acres) of agricultural land just north of Dickens Heath Road, right next to Tidbury Green’s settlement boundary.
According to the planning statement from the applicant’s agents, the development will feature up to 190 dwellings, including 95 affordable homes. The plan also includes new access roads from Tilehouse Lane, pedestrian and cycle pathways, children’s play areas, a community orchard, and allotments.

The agents emphasize that the project offers significant community benefits, supporting the case for developing on this ‘grey belt’ land—a category considered suitable for housing despite environmental concerns.
Residents and interested parties now have the opportunity to review the proposals and submit their feedback. Comments can be made by searching application number PL/2026/00759/PPOL on the Solihull Council planning portal at https://publicaccess.solihull.gov.uk/online-applications.
