Developer Richborough Estates intends to build 300 homes on this site, with half of the properties designated as affordable housing. Despite the potential benefits, Bhatti has labelled the scheme as “inappropriate and unjustified,” emphasizing the importance of preserving the green belt for environmental and community reasons. The MP stressed that safeguarding green spaces remains a priority and urged local authorities to reject the plan to maintain the area’s character and prevent urban sprawl.
