The Honey Club, a lap dancing venue located on Solihull High Street, is awaiting a decision on its licence renewal from Solihull Council’s licensing committee. The club submitted an application for a sexual entertainment venue licence in September, and notably, it has faced no objections, including from West Midlands Police.
According to the application, The Honey Club is a family-run business with experienced management, overseeing the venue with a hands-on approach. Their security measures include multiple staff members stationed both at the entrance and inside the premises, CCTV surveillance in all key areas, and panic buttons installed in every private dance room. Performers are provided private and secure changing facilities, with management prioritizing their well-being.
The venue predominantly restricts access to adults aged 21 and over, though occasionally patrons aged 18 and above are permitted entry. The club also confirms that it is not visible from street level, preserving privacy for its guests.

Operating hours are proposed to remain unchanged, from 10 a.m. to 6 a.m. daily, with closure only on Christmas Day. Established in 2009 after a significant refurbishment of the former Opal Lounge, The Honey Club has become an integral part of Solihull’s High Street and is included within the local Business Improvement District (BID).
Council officers have noted in their report that, given the absence of objections and the strong management controls described, renewing the licence does not appear to pose any specific concerns or risks.
A final decision on the licence renewal will be made by Solihull Council’s licensing committee at their upcoming meeting on Thursday, November 27.
