Sol Bistro in Cotteridge Seeks Premises Licence for Alcohol and Music

Sol Bistro Ltd, located at 1869 Pershore Road in Cotteridge, Birmingham, has submitted an application for a premises licence under the Licensing Act 2003. The proposed licence would permit the sale of alcohol, the playing of recorded background music, and the provision of late-night refreshment.

The public consultation period is now open, with a deadline for objections and representations set for April 27, 2026. Residents and local businesses are encouraged to submit written representations outlining any concerns related to the licensing objectives. These include preventing crime and disorder, ensuring public safety, preventing public nuisance, and protecting children from harm. Representations should include the individual’s name, address, and how their concerns relate to these objectives. False statements made in connection with the application constitute an offence under Section 158 of the Licensing Act 2003.

The proposed licence would allow alcohol sales during the following hours:

  • Monday to Wednesday: 5pm to 11:30pm
  • Thursday to Saturday: 5pm to midnight
  • Sunday: 4pm to 10:30pm

Late-night refreshment would be available:

  • Monday to Wednesday: 11pm to 11:30pm
  • Thursday to Saturday: 11pm to midnight

Background music would be played throughout the day and into the evening.

Residents and nearby businesses should consider potential impacts such as noise, customer dispersal, traffic, and litter when submitting their responses.

After the consultation closes, Birmingham City Council will review all valid representations and decide whether to grant the licence as applied for, grant it with conditions or modified hours, or refuse the application. Both applicants and objectors may have the right to appeal the decision.
