Parmajit Gill, a devoted single mother of four from Wednesbury, tragically passed away on June 28 due to complications from heart disease that were initially mistaken for panic attacks. At just 50 years old, Parmajit’s sudden death has left her family and community mourning the loss of a woman known for her remarkable strength and selflessness.
In 2000, Parmajit bravely battled and survived Stage 4 Hodgkin lymphoma, a testament to her resilience. More recently, she experienced symptoms such as shortness of breath and dizziness, which were wrongly attributed to panic attacks. These symptoms worsened until she was urgently admitted to hospital, where she was diagnosed with ischaemic heart disease and mitral regurgitation—conditions that ultimately led to her untimely death. Additional health issues, including chronic kidney disease and hyperlipidaemia, also contributed to her passing.
Her son, Dilraj Gill, 27, spoke lovingly about his mother, highlighting her courage throughout life’s challenges and her unwavering dedication to her children. “She always put others before herself,” he said. Parmajit leaves behind Dilraj and her three daughters, aged 21, 14, and 8.

The family has been deeply touched by the outpouring of support from friends, neighbours, and the wider community during this heartbreaking time. A GoFundMe campaign has since raised over £2,500 to assist with funeral costs. The family describes Parmajit’s life as one filled with love and sacrifice: “She overcame so much, from battling cancer to raising four children alone, always giving us the best life she could.”
Parmajit’s legacy of kindness, resilience, and love will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew her.
