Tamworth’s popular sports venue, Tamworth Snooker, Pool and Darts, is set to reopen after its recent closure, thanks to a new owner stepping in with plans to revitalize the business.
The bar, located in Tamworth town centre, announced its closure earlier this month, leaving staff and patrons emotional as they bid farewell to a beloved local spot. However, Andrew Russell, landlord of the Fox Inn at Coton Green, has now revealed his intention to take over the establishment.
In a social media update, Mr. Russell expressed excitement about expanding his business portfolio and shared that the venue will undergo some renovations before reopening. The reopening is targeted for early May.

While the bar itself is being saved, the transition will bring changes for staff. Not all current employees will be retained, though there will be opportunities for new hires as the team expands. Those interested in roles at the revamped venue are encouraged to reach out.
Mr. Russell also reassured existing members and customers that memberships, bookings, privilege cards, and vouchers would be honored and transferred to the new management.
“This is a new chapter for the venue,” he said. “Although some things will change, we’re committed to preserving what makes this place special and welcoming our loyal patrons back soon.”
