A teenage girl was left terrified after a man shouted stabbing threats in the female toilets of a Sainsbury’s supermarket in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire. The incident occurred shortly after 3pm on November 10, when the student heard a man in a neighbouring cubicle yelling, “I’m going to f***ing stab you.”
The girl immediately fled the toilets and informed her parents, who had just arrived at the store. Her mother shared on Facebook that they reviewed CCTV footage, which showed a hooded man leaving the ladies’ toilets. The mother described her daughter’s fear, saying, “She was terrified. In her words, she thought she was going to die.”
Store security and management were alerted, and the family contacted the police upon returning home. Staffordshire Police responded promptly, visiting the store to review CCTV footage and speaking with security staff. A police spokesperson confirmed the investigation is ongoing and encouraged anyone with information to come forward.
