Sainsbury’s has announced its opening and closing times for the Christmas period in 2025, ensuring customers can plan their festive shopping with ease.
On Christmas Eve, most Sainsbury’s stores will operate from 6am to 7pm. Convenience stores may stay open later, running from 6am to 9pm to cater to last-minute shoppers.
All Sainsbury’s locations will be closed on Christmas Day to allow staff to enjoy the holiday. On Boxing Day, larger supermarkets will reopen from 9am to 6pm, while convenience stores will typically extend hours from 9am to 9pm.

For New Year’s Eve, bigger Sainsbury’s stores are expected to open from 10am to 7pm, with convenience outlets potentially operating between 6am and 9pm. On New Year’s Day, larger stores will likely be open from 8am to 8pm, while convenience stores will remain open from 9am to 9pm.

In addition to the holiday schedule, Sainsbury’s has introduced festive deals to compete with Aldi during the season. Among the offers is a festive feed-six deal priced at just £2.30 per person when using a Nectar card.
One highlight includes a third off Sainsbury’s Fresh Standard Whole British Turkeys, now available at £3/kg with Nectar prices (£4.50/kg without). Seasonal vegetables have also been reduced to just 15p each, emphasizing the supermarket’s commitment to “brilliant festive value for all.”
Other discounted items include Sainsbury’s Sage & Onion Stuffing Mix (170g) for 45p and Gravy Granules for Meat (170g) at 62p. Additionally, the Butcher’s Choice British Pork & British Bacon Pigs In Blankets (x12) are available until December 26 for £2.50 with Nectar prices (£3.25 without).
