Ryan Bridge, the 45-year-old founder of the Midlands group Raise The Colours, has been charged with 14 offences, including common assault, Thames Valley Police confirmed this evening.
Mr Bridge, from Blackwell, Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, has been instrumental in the campaign to display Union Jack and St George’s Cross flags on lampposts across Birmingham and surrounding areas for over a year.
The charges against him encompass allegations of racially aggravated harassment, threatening behaviour, and assault, with the incidents purportedly occurring in Oxfordshire between 31 January and 31 March 2026.

He is scheduled to appear at Oxfordshire Magistrates’ Court on 3 November.
Thames Valley Police stated that a comprehensive review of evidence, including witness statements and available video footage, was conducted before a file was submitted to the Crown Prosecution Service.
In July, Oxfordshire County Council secured a High Court injunction prohibiting the placement of flags near highways. Meanwhile, Birmingham City Council is pursuing a similar injunction to prevent unauthorised attachments such as flags, banners, and signage on highways, with a hearing planned for Tuesday.
The charges brought against Mr Bridge have not been fully detailed at this stage by the police.
